Description
- Manage R&D engagements, including financial oversight, client interactions, and risk procedures.
- Meet with clients to explain services, determining scope and budget, and proposing fee quotes.
- Develop claim methodologies and overseeing the preparation of R&D tax relief submissions to HMRC.
- Leading interviews with clients' technical and finance teams for advising on R&D tax relief.
- Craft technical project descriptions for HMRC reports, editing client drafts, and preparing robust documentation based on UK BIS guidelines.
- Build internal and external networks, identifying business development opportunities, and pitching for work.
- Handle documentation and liaising with HMRC during R&D Tax claims inquiries.
- Serve as a point of contact for specific R&D projects, reviewing junior staff work, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Keep the wider teams updated on progress and client-related issues. Communicating effectively with firm leaders and adapting approaches to client needs.
- Stay aware of the firm's specialist services, providing added value to clients, and identifying opportunities for other service lines.
Profile
A successful Software R&D Senior Manager should have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role and/or within a similar industry.
- Experience in R&D tax relief claims, from start to finish.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written skills.
