Software Support Engineer

Software Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer / required to join a globally known business working within the software solution and process automation industry.
They are looking for a Software Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer to assist with customers' issues, troubleshoot effectively and be very technical minded with a software background. Be very hands-on and enthusiastic about solving problems.
This role will be based in their office on the Isle of Wight, hybrid working available. Must live on the Isle of Wight or be commutable from Southampton.

The Software Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer role:

Provide support to customers and engineers via email, telephone and Microsoft Teams.
Deal with customer tickets within a short timeframe to uphold company efficiency.
Software support through troubleshooting, fault investigation, diagnose issues.
Regular training with the various products and upgrades.
Be proactive with customers, recommend improvements and solve problems.
Using various databases and networks.
Deploy, update and configure software packages and solutions.
The Software Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer requirements:

Previous experience in a Software Support, technical support or similar role
Strong background in software technologies: operating systems, security, networks, databases.
Worked with Microsoft based operating systems extensively (set up and troubleshoot)
Great communication and Customer Service skills 
Infrastructure support experience, not user level
Development experience (ideally back end system role)
SQL Server
Strong planning and organisation skills
Work independently and as a team
Knowledge of process automation software, control systems is desirable.
Commutable to the office on the Isle of Wight
