Job Title: Software Team Leader

Salary: £54,793 - £60,326 depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

• Management of a team of software engineers, supporting and promoting development
• Completion of allocated requirements, design and implementation, and test tasks to a high standard, and within schedule and estimates
• Development of software solutions
• Testing of completed functionality
• Adherence to project processes and software development practices
• Accurately reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
• Supporting System Test and Integration Activities
• Production of appropriate technical documentation
• Participation in peer reviews of own and others' work products
• Configuration of completed work
• Design of technical solutions
• Generation of requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• A demonstrated STEM degree in a relevant subject e.g. Software Engineering
• Expert knowledge of the software engineering lifecycle
• We are seeking experienced capable software engineers with a proven track record of delivering complex software integration programmes and products
• Experience Software Team Leaders with experience of delivering change programmes

Desirable:

• Use of Jira to manage software tasks or any other task management system
• Confidence in presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders

The Software team:

This is a very exciting time to join our team in Filton as a Software Team Leader. You will be working on world beating aircraft products, creating cutting edge software for our hardware systems and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from design and development to integration. Working closely with systems and test engineers, you will enable the development of complex real-world systems that have to perfectly perform every time, as they will be used in real world combat. This could be on our Eurofighter Typhoon, our aircraft simulators, The Joint Strike fighter (F-35) or even helping define the future of air defence on Tempest
