Looking to start your career in the software testing industry? Look no further than Cadent Gas, where we are offering a Software Tester Apprenticeship in our Technology Delivery department. Working alongside experienced professionals you will learn how to test and validate software systems that enable us to provide safe and reliable gas services to our customers.
Throughout your 24-month Software Tester Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects and gain practical experience in various aspects of software testing. You will have access to a comprehensive training and mentoring program led by experienced Software Testers who will guide you in developing your skills and knowledge.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing an understanding of software development methodologies
- Creating and executing test plans that align with business requirements
- Analysing test results to identify defects and determine whether software meets the requirements of the business and its customers
- Reporting defects in a clear and concise manner and prioritizing them based on their severity
- Learning about automated testing and how it can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software testing
- Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, such as product management, software development, and quality assurance, to ensure software solutions meet business needs and customer expectations.
During the apprenticeship, you'll be assigned a mentor, attend training sessions, and have regular reviews to support your personal and professional development. You'll also work towards achieving a level 4 Software Tester qualification giving you a solid foundation to start your career.
