Solution Architect

Principle One is a rapidly growing specialist consultancy working with Law Enforcement and wider Government. Founded in 2018, we have worked extensively with clients such as the Home Office, NHS, and National Crime Agency. We support our clients keep pace with an increasingly complex core mission; helping them to experiment, innovate, fail fast and continually improve capabilities, working extensively on projects that range from initial discovery through to providing long term business consulting, design, development, and delivery support. 

You will bring experience of working in business and technology transformation programmes within public sector, either within the National Security, Law Enforcement or Healthcare sector and demonstrate a track record of shaping solution designs in collaboration with other team members, ensuring designs meet key functional and non-functional requirements and ensuring good practice in engineering methods is followed.

Role Description 

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our growing team at Principle One. You will work closely with a multi discipline consultancy team in customer facing advisory roles and throughout the end-to-end systems delivery lifecycle.  

As we are a small, rapidly growing business, you will also have an opportunity to contribute to our internal processes and systems as we grow and take responsibility for mentoring and supporting junior staff. 

What skills will you need?  

• Full system development life cycle experience of delivering secure systems onto AWS or Azure; 
• Experience of UML and other modelling notations and experience in using toolsets such as Enterprise Architect; 
• A good understanding of cloud-based Solution Architecture, with an understanding of the migration path from on-premises to fully cloud-native;  
• Experience of systems engineering methodologies and agile delivery approaches such as SAFe; 
• Excellent team working and relationship building skills; 
• Capable of working to challenging deadlines; 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; 
• Self-motivated, keeping morale and performance high.

Location: 

We are based in Vauxhall, London and combine office-based days with remote working and occasional work from customer sites across London and the UK.  

You may occasionally be required to travel to client sites around the UK or work out of customer or partner offices for periods of time and we will work with you to ensure that we get the work-life balance right. 

Salary: 

The role will be paid at a competitive rate based on your experience plus a broad benefits package (including healthcare, pension, life insurance, mobile phone allowance and discretionary annual bonus). A cycle to work scheme is also available.
