Technical Engineer

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Technical Engineer to join their team. The role is based in Bristol with 3 days/week remote working. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Requirements are scheduled to run for 220 days from contract initiation and offer a rate up to £725/day.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Brief Team Description

• Joint Sensor and Engagement Networks Delivery Team (JSENS DT) are responsible for delivery of integrated solutions. The team integrates sensors, Command and Control, and effectors to deliver capability.
• JSENS works as a matrix organisation, with vertical project teams and horizontal technical swim lanes which provide engineering SME to projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Support integration strategy and planning, management of interdependencies and interfaces.
• Support generation and management of SORs, technical requirements, Interface Control Documentation, testing and trials.  
• Support production of Technical Requirements, Contractual SORs, Plans, Demonstrations, Trials, Reports.
• Defect and modification investigations, in-service maintenance advisory services.
• GEAR - Produce and update artifacts, prepare for engineering reviews.

• Working knowledge of GEAR processes and requirements.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• EFCF 4 Technical Decision Making.
• Knowledge of delivering projects with integration activity.
• Knowledge of managing technical elements of contractor delivery.
• Knowledge of managing configuration and change of complex systems. 

Other Information

• Requirement of 60% attendance at home site (3 days per week)
• Security Clearance: Minimum of Security Check, Sole UK National.
• UK Drivers Licence.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
