Stress Engineer

Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a joint venture working on the Hinkley Point C project in Bristol to recruit a Stress Engineer for its Bristol office.

The Stress Engineer is business critical and will play a pivotal role in contributing to the completion of the HPC design phase role comes with a salary ranging from �40,000 up to �65,000 depending on seniority, and experience.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Design Manager you will:

* Ensure proper design of the pipe network and associated supports through piping calculations.
* Perform piping flexibility calculations and piping support calculations.
* Analyse the piping network’s mechanical behaviour to the coded criteria.
* Produce technical assessment notes.
* Propose proportionate modifications to ensure sizing criteria are met.
* Interfacing with European offices in order to participate in the set up of tools and methods and improvement of methodologies.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Education within Mechanical Engineering, Piping/Stress Engineering or relevant qualifications.

Personal skills

The Stress Engineer role would suit someone who is:

* A Stress Engineer with 2 years experience working within design, calculations, and modelling.
* Working within a regulated sector such as nuclear, pharmaceutical, water treatment, industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, etc.

Salary and benefits of the Stress Engineer role:

* A salary of �40,000 - �65,000 depending on experience and seniority.
* Hybrid working with 3 days a week in the office (Bristol)
* An opportunity to travel internationally to European offices.
