Non-Conformance Stress Engineer
Hybrid on site - Bristol
Permanent - £35,000 - £40,000
Key responsibilities:
• Assessing impact of an item of non-conformance on suitability to meet component requirements and the impact on performance at system level
• Sentence a concession or repair with a rational and justified engineering statement
• Perform hand calcs to support conclusions
• Perform FE analysis provide in depth findings
• Assessing Engineering drawings
• Following procedures and specifications
• Liaising with non-conformance specialists
• Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes
• Performing post-processing and generating appropriate outputs
• Carrying out various types of analysis based on the above, i.e. static stress, fatigue, life assessments, optimisation, etc.
• Assessing suitability of repair and concession activities
• Presenting and reporting progress and results, externally and internally
• Maintaining direct working relationships with clients and represent both your work and the work of team members during client meetings
Profile:
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, ideally mechanical
• Experience of Stress Engineering for airframe or aero-engine systems and all associated components required
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing process desirable
• Manufacturing, Producibility and Concession process experience
• Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs
• Liaising with specialist teams
• Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy engineering centre
• Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels
• Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English
