SALARY: £66,861-£75,780 per annum
LOCATION: Bristol
HOURS: Full-time (35 hours per week)
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office. Please note, we can't accept applications for candidates looking to work from London or any of the other hubs for this position.

This vacancy is in the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) division, within the Client Servicing & Engagement (CSE) platform. Our purpose is to create and deliver products that enable clients to grow their businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to join us as a Solutions Architect working across a small number of cross-disciplinary feature teams to define Solution Architecture and designs that unlock and create opportunities to digitise & deliver excellent client journeys, business outcomes and meet the groups strategic goals to simplify and redefine the technology landscape.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect you will:
Collaborate with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to create the Architectural runway for our Platform teams;
Be responsible for our application architecture and the delivery of our engineering design deliverables and managing architecture decisions through formal governance processes whilst ensuring IT Compliance and governance policies are met
Partner with fellow Solution Architects & service providers to elaborate on solutions, their interfaces and validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives and software lifecycle risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies.
Provide analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designs using relevant architectural building blocks as well as producing designs for features that enable frequent incremental customer value delivery.
Promote adaptive design practises to drive collaboration across Platform teams centring on a common vision with continuous feedback.
Capture technical design risks or issues and drive resolution through architectural or agile practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Technical Skills
Previous hands-on experience in a commercial environment in:
A Solution Architecture position and demonstrable working knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns as well as experience in architecture and design governance;
Building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working-to-strong understanding of cloud methodologies;
Mobile Native & Cross Platform Apps for Apple iOS, Android or ReactNative; and programming languages, including Java;
API Gateways & Management Platforms such as IBM API Connect, IBM Data Power, Apigee, Microsoft Azure API Manager, or similar;
Micro-front end and micro-service API design, event driven architecture;
Single Page Applications using technologies such as ReactJS, AngularJS or equivalent;
Behavioural Skills
A “can-do” attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle
Confidence to express own opinions and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate and strong communication skills with excellent collaboration capabilities
