Job description

Solutions Architect - Infrastructure Integrations - Insurance - Permanent - Hybrid/London City

Are you an experienced Solutions Architect with a background in designing infrastructure integration solutions for acquisitive organisations, ideally within the insurance sector?

My client is a quickly growing insurance broking and risk management organisation with ambitious plans, who are looking for a stand alone architect to support their integration team through a continued period of growth.

The Role

This is a crucial role that will design, and implement resilient and scalable solutions for smooth integrations into the Azure hosted infrastructure following acquisitions of small to medium sized businesses in the insurance arena.

You will be performing a hands-on role where you will get your hands dirty with end-to-end solution design, create detailed architecture documentation including technical specs and diagrams, and collaborate closely with a range of business stakeholders to understand their requirements and challenges, as acquired businesses are integrated.

Defining standards and guidelines, as well as ensuring these are compliant with industry and regulatory standards will be paramount, as well ensuring robust risk assessments are in place to ensure integrations and migrations are carried out with minimal disruption.

You will ensure all documentation and Knowledge Articles relating to integrations are handed over to Service Delivery during the transition stage, and meticulously identify and potential challenges and risks with proposed solutions.

What are the requirements for the successful Data Modeller?

As the organisations first architectural hire during a period of key growth, this is a hands on role where you be expected to design and implement solutions autonomously. As such you will have at least 3 years' working as a stand alone architect, or in a small team within an agile organisation that moves at pace.

You MUST have experience with Infrastructure Integrations following M&A activity, experienced with MS stack technology, and be able to convey complex architectural concepts to non-technical audiances.

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, who has led the design infrastructure design within acquisition led businesses (ideally within the insurance sector)
  • Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks, design patters and best practices.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services (ideally Azure)
  • Expert analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on practical solutions within a fast paced, maturing environment
  • Any experience of insurance software solutions including Acturis, or OpenGI would be highly beneficial
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Excellent communication and people skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships.
  • Relevant certification such as TOGAF

What's on offer for the successful Solutions Architect?

This role offers hybrid working with 2 days a week in either London City, or East Midlands offices, as well as a competitive base salary and package. Unfortunately this role DOES NOT offer sponsorship.
