Offshore Operations within RWE Offshore is looking for a Special Projects Manager for its Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm with advanced leadership, strategic, operations, and stakeholder management skills to develop Special Projects and improve our offshore operations activities.
Your tasks
The Special Projects Manager will be a key member of the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm Senior Leadership Team. As such they will be responsible for contributing to and delivering the operational, health and safety, financial, and strategic performance of Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm
The Special Projects Manager will support the General Manager and provide strategic and operational leadership. They will have responsibility and accountability for the management of a wide and diverse number of projects as defined by the Gwynt y Môr General Manager
The type and range of project responsibility is expected to be broad, rather than the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities
Typical projects could be expected to include matters such as commercial dispute resolution and settlements, legal claims (settlement and/or legal action), and warranty claims
The Special Projects Manager will also be responsible for key projects relating to the long-term strategy of Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm
You will develop and implement strategic initiatives and continuous improvements with appropriate coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm is a Joint Venture partnership
You will work with internal and external stakeholders, including relevant government bodies, industry bodies, and regulators while ensuring effective communication with the General Manager, the Gwynt y Môr Board of Directors, and the wider RWE business as required
The Special Projects Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies as well as operating licences, consents, and statutory requirements
You will work closely with the Production Manager to deliver quality site performance
As a member of the leadership team, the Special Project Manager will create and promote a high-safety culture and be part, of a proactive approach to HSE management aligned with RWE behaviours and principles
Although there is no direct line management responsibility in this role, the Special Project Manager will provide support with people development within the wider team
Your profile
A relevant engineering or business degree or extensive industrial experience equivalent (preferably in offshore wind operations)
High leadership qualities and a proven history of building and fostering a performance culture and hard-working teams, coupled with proven experience in disciplinary line management of large and diverse teams
Extensive knowledge and experience of renewable energy or generation assets, including economics and cost drivers
Good experience in managing a large number of stakeholders and complex multimillion projects
A proven background in operations and decision-making based on the principles of sound financial valuation
Enhanced planning and organizing skills to include effective prioritization, resource management, and a long-term strategic focus
Ability to strategically plan, manage, discover, anticipate, and resolve potential problems as well as initiate and deliver business improvements
High communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective senior working relationships across RWE and the renewables industry
An enthusiasm for health and safety and an extensive understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards
