Job description

Location: Fully Remote – work from anywhere in the UK with potential to travel to one of our offices occasionally. We also offer office-based positions, in our Derry BT48, Durham DH4 or Skipton BD23 offices.

We give you a world of potential

Do you love talking to and helping people?

We are looking for engaging people who have experience helping customers in financial difficulty and some working knowledge of mortgages. If this applies to you and you’re brilliant at engaging with customers, we would love for you to join our Collections team! With interest rates rising, our customers need our support more than ever and many have questions about their options right now. Your role as a Specialist Collector is to provide effective support to help customers manage their mortgage payments and get back on track, dealing with a range of queries and requests quickly and effectively.

No two calls will be the same: you could be speaking to customers at any stage in the collections process. By understanding the needs of the customers that you are talking to and providing a long-term solution you will be helping them on their road to financial recovery. We will train you on everything you need to know. What’s more, while you may start as a Specialist Collector, we’re proud to offer development opportunities across our business – we support your progression into more senior roles through continuous development and structured career pathways.

We’re offering a generous starting package with excellent bonus earning potential and many other company benefits:

  • Salary of £28,579.20 based on a 40-hour contract. 35-hour contracts are also available.
  • Immediate bonus earning potential of up to £2,204 per annum. Up to £1,101 is paid every 6 months and you’re eligible from your first month with us!
  • To welcome you to the team you’ll receive an initial bonus once you’ve completed initial training and a further bonus after you’ve passed your probation.
  • Employer pension contributions up to 8%
  • 33 days holiday per year (incl. bank holidays), with the option to buy up to 5 additional days.
  • Invest in our business by setting aside salary to purchase shares in our company, and you’ll receive a company contribution as well.
  • Extra rewards ranging from recognition awards and team get togethers to helping you invest in your future.
  • Career Pathway Programme – As part of your learning journey you’ll receive stepped salary increases as you progress through training milestones
  • Flexible working arrangements: you can choose to work in one of our offices or work from home - always having the option to come into the office if you’d prefer.
  • And more. Ours is a welcoming and close-knit community, with experienced colleagues ready to help you grow. Click here to find out more about our benefits.

Working hours & flexibility

This is a fully flexible telephony-based role. Operating hours between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday & 9am-1pm Saturday. At month end hours may occasionally be extended to 9am-4pm Saturday, 10am-3pm Sunday & Bank Holidays.

Longer shifts may be required at busier times; you may be expected to occasionally work shifts of up to 11 hours, usually at month end when we have our highest call volumes, but you will never exceed your contracted hours across the rolling month.

Work hard, get rewarded

When you first join us, we’ve got to get you trained and ready to help others – it’ll be an intense but rewarding period of learning with our skilled and experienced trainers. During your first 12 months, you’ll prove you are able to deliver to the standards we and our customers need. We’ll support you every step of the way and help you to succeed. We absolutely recognise and reward hard work and determination, and we have exciting longer-term career opportunities for those who want to take them.
