So, who are we looking for?
As a Specialist Maintenance Technician, you will have had responsibility for attending a variety of jobs, varying from changing bulbs and clearing bin stores to minor plumbing and carpentry. You will be comfortable working as part of a team on site.
You will be an effective communicator with the confidence to engage with a range of people including clients, colleagues and contractors. You will need to make sure that works required are carried out to the highest quality and within set timeframes. A positive attitude and a flexible approach to work are fundamental to being successful in this role.
You will have complete support from line management should any task present you with queries or concerns and quality tools and equipment are provided by the company.
And what will you be doing?
No two days are the same but the below gives you a flavour for some of the tasks you’d typically be involved with. Even if you can’t tick everything off from the list below but think you’ve got what it takes, we’d be keen for you to apply:
- Arrive promptly to the site and spend the allowed time at/on each set task
- Assess the site for any specific issues that may have arisen and report back if appropriate
- Comply with all local health and safety measures
- Changing light bulbs and ensuring other fixtures are in good working order
- Rewiring, changing fuses, junction boxes etc.
- Minor plumbing and carpentry
- Clearing or cleaning general areas, bin-stores, and internal and external pathways
- Conducting repairs within communal areas, completing to a suitable standard
- Garden/landscape installation and maintenance
- Footpath maintenance – such as jet-washing, sweeping and clearing
- Painting and decorating of communal areas
- Maintaining property exterior through the different seasons
- Assisting any residents who have queries or complaints by directing them to the appropriate department
