Salary Available as a B6 post or a B6 development post. If you are applying as a development post it will commence on a B6 Annex 21. Therefore you will be paid 70% of entry point on a B6 & when competencies achieved you will move to entry point on B6 scale.
Full time 37.5 hours per week.

There will be opportunities to work within the stroke unit at Eastbourne Hospital gaining experience of MDT working and rehabilitation including IOPI, Ampcare & EMST - with an occasional need to work across acute sites inc. With the developments in East Sussex Integrated Care System delivering transformation plans to meet local needs, it is an exciting time to be part of a large county wide service setting the direction and vision for future SLT services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic therapist, who has completed their NQP competencies and possibly their post basic dysphagia training, who is looking for their next post to specialise in acute SLT services. In East Sussex we can offer you the opportunity to work alongside highly specialist SLTs and SLT assistants to gain the experience and skills you will need to work at a specialist level. We will utilise a competency development tool to help you to identify what knowledge and skills you need to develop and through structured supervision we will help you to achieve these.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside highly specialist clinicians in acute care, voice, head and neck cancer, stroke, critical care and neurological degenerative conditions to further develop your knowledge and skills.
You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team of acute and community SALTs who work seamlessly to provide pathways of care to the local adult population, in line with organisational and Divisional objectives.

East Sussex Speech and Language Therapy service is an integrated community and acute trust and is one of the largest in the UK. There will be an opportunity to participate in MND, PD and MS multi-disciplinary forums and virtual MDTs. You will be maximising digital opportunities and collaborations with our neighbouring trusts. We are at an exciting point in developing our rehabilitation tool bag and have received a large investment in funding for IOPI and Expiratory Muscle Strength Training (EMST).
Have you completed your NQPs & are starting to look for a new post to give you the opportunity to develop your skills & specialise in managing people & swallowing difficulties in the acute inpatient setting?
There is potential to gain some experience in community working if desirable.
