We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to provide assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based intervention to children referred for speech and language therapy (SLT).
This role is primarily to support children’s communication needs however some of the children on our caseload have eating and drinking difficulties and this role will include working with paediatric dysphagia.
We are a friendly, dynamic team of SLTs and Associate Practitioners / Assistants supporting children who have complex communication needs.
We work in clinic, patient homes, local hubs and schools or nurseries where we observe, assess and carry out interventions to support the development of the child’s communication skills through the adaptation of the environment, the empowerment of significant others and through direct contact with the child.
We are looking for someone to join us who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs to fulfil their potential.
Leading and supporting therapists, assistants and students working with both preschool and school age children.
As you will be visiting local schools as part of your role, a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

Main Responsibilities
To manage own delegated caseload of children independently across a variety of settings
To work with carers, the multidisciplinary team and the wider children’s workforce to provide a co-ordinated approach to children’s speech, language and communication needs and dysphagia needs.
To contribute to service development and key performance targets
To work in partnership with other agencies in order to meet local and national objectives as agreed with commissioners
To supervise and allocate work to assistants, SLT students and less experienced therapists, as required
The Ideal CandidateEssential
Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
Health and Care Professions Council Licence to Practice (HCPC)
Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
Evidence of relevant post graduate training, internal or external, in communication and dysphagia.
Member of relevant Clinical Excellence Network
Evidence of relevant post graduate training, internal or external
Evidence of continuing professional development
Specialist knowledge of assessments and interventions for client group
Knowledge of national and local policies and procedures relevant to client group and role
Understanding of the role of other professionals (relevant to care group)
Awareness of policies and procedures relating to Child Protection
Post graduate qualification in Paediatric Dysphagia
