Job description

Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired required as soon as possible to join the Sensory Education Support Team.

About the role 

Highly motivated qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired required to join The Sensory Education Support Team (SEST) as soon as possible but by 1st September 2024 at the latest. This is a permanent part time position working 3 days per week and is a countywide post.  Lincolnshire County Council pay a generous mileage allowance of 45p per mile for any business mileage undertaken from the successful applicant’s nearest designated work base. A full valid driving license and access to a vehicle is required. 

About you

The successful applicant will need to work in collaboration with other SEST team members and Ophthalmology in supporting pupils with a range of vision needs across Lincolnshire.  Key tasks within the role will be to: work in partnership with a range of professionals, staff in schools and parents in order that the vision needs of learners can be met; to deliver training; and to monitor and evaluate the progress and attainment of these pupils.   

Qualified Teacher Status is essential and, further, qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired status is required (although consideration may be given to someone who is nearing completion of the accredited course or who is willing to train. If necessary, training will be paid for and supported by the team.) Full induction and on-going support will also be provided.

The post is advertised under Teachers' Terms and Conditions (Term time only) and salary will be paid at the successful candidate's current salary rate on the Teachers' Pay Scale and will also attract a SEN Allowance; level to be determined depending on experience and qualifications (Between £2,384 and of £4,703 per annum). Please note - confirmation of the current salary rate will be required from the candidate's current or most recent employer in order that this will be honoured.
