Stretton Handley Primary School is a smaller than average village school, situated on the edge of the Peak district in Derbyshire, close to Ogston Reservoir. The Head Teacher and Governors of this caring and supportive church school are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and pro-active Pastoral Support Worker to support our children through specific, targeted interventions which focus on their wellbeing and enable them to achieve their full potential.
Job Purpose
To provide personal, social, learning support and guidance to individuals and support children in developing positive learning behaviours and positive mental health and wellbeing.
The Pastoral Support Worker will work with children on an individual and group basis, acting as:
1) Listener
2) Facilitator for Learning
3) Encourager
4) Motivator
5) Role Model

We are looking for someone who has;
1) Experience working in a teaching support role (experience working in a supportive Pastoral role would be advantageous).
2) Knowledge of using a range of interventions, particularly those which support children’s social, emotional and mental health.
3) Good literacy and numeracy skills gained from general education to GCSE ‘O’ level
