We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant with the BSL Level 1 qualification to join our busy and dynamic Specialist Resource Base for deaf young people.
We strive to offer a bespoke package of support for each student and in the role of Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support deaf young people and contribute to improving educational outcomes for deaf children and young people.
The role of Specialist Teaching Assistant is to support the communication, learning and achievement, development and inclusion of deaf children and young people. The successful candidate will work with the deaf students in the resource base, or with them in their mainstream class, to make communication and learning accessible. In this specialist role, you will require the flexibility to support children with a variety of learning needs who communicate through spoken language, Sign Language or a combination of the two.
This is a temporary contract, working 35 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year.
