The post holder will work as an Advanced Practitioner Level 1Speech and Language Therapist within the Community / Schools setting and will work in consultation with the SLT clinical and service lead for the service area.To lead in and be part of an expert Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service to children and young people, primarily within Speech and Language Units but also Autism Support classes (ASC’s), in particular Knockmore school, and may also include service to children and young people with DLD in other schools, in consultation with the SLT Clinical Specialist and Service Lead for the area. To provide assessment and management of children with speech, language and or communication disorders within ASCs.To provide a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of children with a broad range of speech, language and communication disorders associated with Hearing Impairment.To have a lead role in the development of collaborative practices between Education and the Speech and Language Therapy Service.The post holder will practice autonomously, providing clinical highly specialist expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, management and discharge of children with a broad range of speech, language and communication needs associated with DLD and Hearing Impairment..

Professional qualifications required by Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.Current registration of R.C.S.L.T and licence to practice. , Experience with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of bilingual children presenting with speech, language and communication difficulties.
