Speech Pathologist Duties such as:
- Provide assessments, care planning and reviews to children and adults with a cognitive, physical or psycho-social disability.
- Drive to homes, schools or hospitals to conduct assessments and provide recommendations on the functional impact of disability on positioning, eating and swallowing.
- Develop training to clients, carers and support workers on meal-time management.
- Work in a dynamic and evolving team focused on achieving optimal client
outcomes while meeting clinical targets set for the adult therapy team. - Liaise with and provide therapy and progress reports to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Support Coordination and other referrers/funding bodies as required.
- Work with the NDIS adult therapy team, and community engagement & marketing team to participate in community events that increase the presence and identity as a service provider of choice.
- Write reports that meet both the needs of the client and the insurer.
Speech PathologistHours:
- Monday to Friday
- Full time - approx. 38 hours a week
- Office Hours - usually 5 hours a day of visits and reports then written at home or in the office
Person Requirements:
- Current full Driver’s Licence
- 2 years or more experience as a Speech Pathologist
- University qualification in Speech Therapy/Pathology
- Eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia e.g. hold certification or membership from The Royal College Of Speech & Language Therapists - London, or the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists
- Knowledge of the Australian NDIS or willingness to learn
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record in creating efficiency and meeting targets.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment.
- Have or able to obtain an Australian National Police check (NPC) and a Blue Card - Queensland's Working with Children Check.
