We have an exciting opportunity available for a SSL Head of UK Sales tojoin our Liverpool office. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis.  In return, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits.

Your responsibilities as our SSL Head of UK Sales will include:

  • Actively promote and expand awareness and greater visibility of the SSL brand within UK market., identifying new business opportunities and maximising the continued success of existing business
  • Leading the UK Sales team in achievement of their own sales objectives, whilst taking hands-on accountability of critical customer accounts
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships to ensure SSL achieve an optimum throughput from each individual customer, proactively visiting customers at every opportunity
  • Developing effective methods of reporting and analysing sales performance and activities, revenue & volumes, ensuring any customer issues are identified and resolved in a timely and effective manner
  • Identifying where commercial opportunities have been missed, and lead on formulation of effective strategies to address and remedy such situations
  • Working collaboratively with other internal teams including Customer Service, Trade and Head Office, to maximise the success of attracting and maintaining throughput across all markets and trades
  • Actively supporting the marketing & PR of SSL and our services in the market, representing SSL at relevant industry functions, workshops and exhibitions

To become our SSL Head of UK Sales, you’ll need:

  • Proven leadership experience in a Sales / Commercial function within a relevant industry, i.e. Shipping and Logistics. (Experience within the European Supply Chain industry in particular would be an advantage).
  • Demonstrable experience of defining an executing effective Sales and Marketing plans, in support of ambitious commercial growth objectives.
  • Extensive experience of working directly with customers within a competitive market, whilst being effective at working cross-functionally to ensure customers receive the best possible experience throughout the customer journey.  
  • Demonstrable People leadership and management experience, with proven ability to instil a culture of high performance and high engagement within teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to develop and manage effective working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Proven decision making and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders. 
  • Strong knowledge of relevant markets for the SSL Business, with the ability to turn insights into actionable sales opportunities.
