The Role & Key Responsibilities
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership.
In this vital role you will be at the forefront of improving Road Safety and reducing the number of people that are killed and seriously injured on the roads of Sussex.
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
Provide guidance and advice regarding the activity of the partnership and road safety initiatives to the public. Make decisions using own judgement to action or resolve issues, or triage and escalate as appropriate.
Provide executive support to the Partnership Manager briefing them on ongoing projects and ensuring awareness ahead of vital meetings; with political awareness at the forefront whilst ensuring horizon scanning is still gaining traction.
Collating and disseminating updates to the Programme Board, Strategy and Resources Group and Directors Board, on best practice pertaining to Road Safety initiatives of Local, Regional and National initiatives and programmes.
Work with Project and Campaign Leads to promote and raise awareness of the partnership and support the Engagement and Communications Supervisor to identify any internal or external communication requirements.
Provide a full range of senior and strategic administrative support for all Partners within the Partnership where appropriate. Ensuring these vital meetings and multi-agency boards run smoothly and effectively. This will include the advanced management and distribution of papers and official sensitive documents.
Organise strategic meetings, events, visits, travel, and accommodation to ensure that efficient, good value and cost-effective arrangements are on behalf of the Partnership.
Act as a main point of contact for all SSRP colleagues as well as managing the Partnership Manager's diary, ensuring meetings and appointments are appropriately resourced and prioritised enabling Senior Staff to make the best use of their time.
Manage and act as a main point of contact for the Partnership. Focusing on the vital administration and development of SSRP; with recruitment of vacancies and future expansion of the Partnership.
Executive management and coordination of indispensable documents for the Partnership.
Identify and book relevant training courses for the SSRP. Have oversight and coordinating CPD to underpin the foundation of the Partnership, in line with expansion and business development.
Skills & Experience
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Advanced organisational skills, including the ability to organise time and and activities for self and others.
  • Ability to manage multi-agency meeting cycles at a strategic level of organisation, dealing with a variety of key stakeholders and senior personnel.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and work to own initiative, with the expertise to work with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Confident in engaging with the public in support of road safety campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of drafting letters, communications and correspondence at a senior/strategic level within an organisation.
  • Outlook diary management experience with a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365.
  • Able to contribute to a working culture that is open and responsive to change.
