Staff Engineer - Mechanical Design - Rotors

This opening is for a design role for GE9X HPC module within GE9X Engineering section at GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. You will be required to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including but not limited to Supply chain, Assembly, Systems, Programs, Manufacturing Programs, Quality, Repairs, PSE, Materials and other functional teams to achieve the desired outcome for the module.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute design and analysis activities for rotating parts of high pressure compressor module of engines for issue resolution, non-conformances (MRB), performance improvements, Durability and producibility improvements
• Drive and deliver on performance & weight targets
• Should collaborate with PSE for developing field plan
• Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz. Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to develop strategies for achieving the desired outcomes
• Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally 
• Provide technical guidance & mentor engineers in team
• Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions

Required Qualifications

• PhD/MTech /MS/BTech/BE in Mechanical/Aerospace
• 12+ years of relevant experience on  Mechanical design/hardwareownership/ Finite element analysis of rotating parts preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain.
• In-depth understanding of Mechanical Design fundamentals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Ability to navigate through uncertainties and define the path for the teams.
