Rainbow Mother and Baby unit is a 6 bedded specialist commissioned service offering assessment, support and treatment to women suffering from acute mental health illness during their third trimester of pregnancy up to baby being 12mths old.
Admissions are accepted primarily from the east of England. The team work very closely with other key professions to ensure the best outcomes for both Mother and baby therefore strong communication skills are essential.
Perinatal work is an exciting area focusing not only on the individual but the extended family during what can be the most amazing and terrifying time in their life.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed RMN looking to enhance or gain knowledge in a complex and highly rewarding area to join our expanding service and support in the care and recovery of the ladies admitted to the service, their infant and wider family
Support and lead in the specialist care of women suffering acute mental illness during the perinatal stage
Support in service development and treatment of Mothers and their babies based on evidence based practice
The applicant should be highly motivated, flexible and committed to offering the best, individualised care
Good communication skills are essential

Keyworking, leading on the care of women suffering acute mental illness within the perinatal period
develop individualised person centred care plans and comprehensive risk assessment and management plans
work with others in the team to develop baby care plans and therapeutic interventions for both Mother and Baby
Support families and carers
liaise closely with and attend variety of meetings relevant to the lady and baby's care including the local authority and legal meetings
