Some of the duties you will have include:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and requirements for steel installation.
- Assemble and install structural steel components, such as beams, columns, and braces, using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Align and position steel components accurately, ensuring proper fit and levelness.
- Bolt or weld steel components together securely, following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other team members, including crane operators and riggers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Always adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, promoting a safe work environment.
- Inspect and assess steel components for defects or damage, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain and organise tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Follow project schedules and deadlines, completing tasks in a timely manner.
Essential-
- Must hold a valid CSCS / ACE
- Trade qualification - Time served L2/L3 NVQ or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable-
- Previous experience of working outages / shutdowns within the EFW and CCGT power industries is preferred.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role & industry experience preferred.
