Job Title: Stock Controller
Location: Taunton (outskirts so must drive to get to location)
Salary: £22,800 – £29,500
Hours: The role is permanent, working Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours per week (9am-5pm Monday to
Thursday, 9am-4pm Friday)

We have an incredible opportunity to work with our very well established client on the outskirts of Taunton who are currently looking for a Stock Controller on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels of both raw ingredients and cut/blended products to ensure that stock data is accurate and up to date and that adequate stock levels are maintained according to production demand. You will also play an active role in further developing the stock control and planning functions. The successful candidate will have previous experience of stock control ideally within a manufacturing/warehouse environment, as well as a working knowledge of stock control systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. You will need to be organised and have a passion for accuracy with a strong head for numbers. Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be working collaboratively with our customers and internal departments on a regular basis.

Duties:

• Track raw material demand profiles from approved customer and sales orders/forecasts and work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure that planned material availability is achieved.
• Provide a weekly stock shortage report detailing critical raw materials.
• Provide stock reports including Fair for Life monthly sales.
• Identify exceptional demand changes and action approved amendments.
• Check that forward demand profiles are realistic and challenge any identified anomalies.
• Identify trends or repeating predictable constraints and propose effective long- term solutions.
• Identify slow moving and obsolete stocks with follow-up and preventative actions using quarterly meeting (organized by the job holder) to review data and set out wider company actions.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Planning and Sales to specify stock movements between virtual and physical multi-site warehouses.
• Daily management of works order processing functions
• Take ownership of the Sage stock data and its accuracy including locations, quantities, lot codes and first-in-first-out compliance – working closely with the

Warehouse, Quality and Sales.

• Monitor and report on wastage levels via the Milling Schedule.
• Organise an annual stock take to reconcile any anomalies between stock on site and Sage. Schedule & input cyclical stock counting of all stock.
• Provide absence cover for other team members.
