Equans is looking for a Storeperson to join our team in Ipswich, Suffolk on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
Provide a comprehensive stock management service in support of station operation and maintenance including Goods receipt, commercial inspection, Stock checking, pre picking, issue and return and overall Warehouse Management

Technical Competences:
  • Provide an efficient and timely stores management service
  • Assist in the effective management of the station inventory
  • Undertake warehouse management appropriate to the maintenance of a safe, clean, efficient stores operating environment including material identification, location, access, handling, security, storage and use of appropriate storage and handling equipment
  • Ensure items received are as per specification and order (in quality, quantity and specification, and where appropriate, accompanied by relevant documentation)
  • Liaise with Material Controller, Procurement Engineers and Systems Engineers and suppliers as necessary to ensure items are checked and processed in a timely manner (e.g. Stores Hold, QC Pend)
  • Receive and put away stock items
  • Receive non-stock items (including direct charge and Visa) and deal within appropriate manner
  • Resolve discrepancies on receipted items and raise OSD&D items that do not meet specified criteria
  • Appropriately process items to returned to stores from plant
  • Issue items at stores counter
  • Perform pre-issue preparation including kitting and pre-picking as appropriate
  • Maintain warehouse and housekeeping standards
  • Perform all necessary stock checks (cycle count, work week / outage stock checks, ad hoc) to maintain stock accuracy within required levels
  • Reconcile stock discrepancies
  • Support disposal of redundant and scrap materials
  • Undertake warehouse administration duties
  • Select, pack and despatch items for transfer to other EDF Energy stations
  • Prepare, pack and despatch items for return to vendor / other locations (including repairable items)
  • Any other duties required to underpin a controlled supply chain environment
  • Consignor of Dangerous Goods
Industry Qualifications Required (dependant on operational requirements;
No formal qualifications required, although –
  • Gas Cylinder Handling
  • CITB or RTT forklift
  • Descent from height
  • Crane driving

There is also an expectation to undertake further training as requested in line with the clients and EQUANS Workplaces operational requirements. Optional training includes;
  • EDF – Entry into Radiation Controlled Areas
  • EDF – Entry into Contamination Controlled Areas

Planning & Organising
  • Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements.

  • An ability to work under pressure taking ownership of all delegated tasks ensuring that all work is of a high standard.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations
  • Provide out of hours cover where required
  • Complete relevant paperwork
  • Compliant with all safety related policies and procedures
  • Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Appropriate risk assessments undertaken on all work.
  • Rectifies problems where appropriate (ensuring that the correct procedures are followed)
  • All paperwork completed (permits, reports and work order cards) is accurate and submitted within set time scales.
Teamwork
  • Establish good working relationships with other team members, provide guidance to others (e.g. apprentices)
  • Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives
  • Contributes to prejob briefs, exchanging ideas and putting forward suggestions to improve team performance.
  • Positive feedback from other team members.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner. Interacting positively with the client and their representatives, proactively sharing information with others.
Health & Safety
  • Reads and understands the relevant generic Risk Assessment
  • Completes Point of work Risk Assessment
  • Ensures appropriate PPE is worn/used and is good working order
  • Ensures work area is protected using appropriate barriers/signs
  • Ensures full training has been received for each aspect of the job
  • Ensures work area is left safe on completion of the job
