Stores Assistant

Boden Group deliver facilities maintenance services and project works to the Ministry of Defence and commercial clients at multiple sites in the South West and South East.

We are looking for a Stores Assistant to join the team based at HMNB Portsmouth.

Main Duties of the role:

• Escort contractors from the gatehouse to their designated work areas on the site, ensuring smooth and safe navigation.
• Assist contractors as needed during their time on-site and accompany them back to the gatehouse upon completion of their tasks.
• Collect deliveries from the gate and distribute them to appropriate departments or storage areas.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and organization within the storage area.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor and Works Coordinator to provide administrative assistance, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating maintenance tasks and appointments.
• Work alongside engineers during specific tasks, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to and providing support as the designated safety person.
• Participate in safety briefings and adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
• Sort and organise items stored within the facilities' storage areas for easy accessibility.
• Maintain a clean and well-organised stores environment.
• Participate in emergency light, fire alarm and water hygiene testing procedures, subject to proper training, to ensure functionality and compliance.
• Provide support to maintenance tasks as trained and directed by experienced engineers, contributing to general upkeep, maintenance, and repairs.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Essential:

• Ability to navigate computer systems well.
• Full UK Driving Licence Desirable
• Must be able to gain and maintain security clearance
