Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our procurement team at the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The role combines tasks of both a Stores role and a Procurement role in the same job, so if you like variety, this is the role for you: with no two days the same, you will undertake a full range of duties to support the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Department, Hospital and Research Groups to ensure the smooth running of the procurement and stores service. One of the highlights of the role will be to provide a friendly face-to-face service to staff and students seeking help and guidance with their orders.
You will have GCSE English and Maths, Grade 4, or above and/or equivalent level of work-based experience. You will be familiar with use of MS Excel. If you already know how to use on-line procurement systems, this would be an advantage, however, if you have good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, a patient attitude, tact and diplomacy, please apply and we will teach you the rest.
Additionally, it would be an advantage if you can demonstrate that you know about the principles, processes, and general concepts related to purchasing and stores.
Sometimes the team's work is very busy, so the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst staying accurate and paying attention to detail is vital. You will have the opportunity to work on your own initiative within the scope of your role.
In return, we you will be joining a small friendly team and will receive the following:
Generous paid annual leave including bank holidays
Defined benefit pension scheme
Enhanced family friendly policies
Access to a dedicated Personal and Professional Development team
Wellness programme including Occupational Health team and Staff counselling
Staff discount scheme including shopping vouchers
Cycle to work scheme
Travel to work loans
Eye care voucher scheme
Discounted gym membership
