Job description

Working for an Tier one Automotive component supplier based in Coventry. Reporting to the Stores Team Leader, Associates are involved in all aspects of Stores activities to help ensure the site s achievement of all customer requirements on cost, quality and delivery. This could involve working independently or as part of a team unit. Associates will therefore have to be flexible in their approach to help the business adapt to customer demands.
Flexibility to work across all areas of the Stores (Goods In / Despatch) which may involve a combination of Forklift Truck (Reach and Counterbalance) receiving, packing, handling and shipping goods in a timely manner.
Role Outline:
Current Reach and Counterbalance Licences are required
Goods in and receiving deliveries and ensuring the correct and relevant paperwork is received
Booking in / out goods through the ERP system
Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Team Leader / Group Team Leader
Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
Moving goods and loading pallets and equipment safely and securely.
Packaging shipments or checking inventories.
Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods
Packing finished good into the crates/containers specified by the customer
Monitoring and escalation of any problems from the stores / warehouse area to the Team Leader or Group Team Leader and working with them to help resolve any issues.
Taking part in any continuous improvement or 5S activities when required.
Ensuring quality procedures and special care points are followed while actively working to maintain and improve levels of quality. This includes highlighting any defects/problems to the Line Leader/Team Leader and working with them to bring a resolution.
To ensure all Health and Safety guidelines are followed at all times including wearing of any appropriate PPE for the job.
Take part in training activities to advance skills and improve knowledge.
General housekeeping and cleaning to ensure your work area is clear and safe.Corporate Responsibility:

Assist in embedding a financial focused approach to all business processes and activities.
Health & Safety
