Our client is a well known and long established privately owned company that has been providing machining and fabrication services to industry since 1974. The company is based out of Ossett, Wakefield, which provides quick and easy access to all major routes throughout the UK. They work from a large manufacturing unit boasting 80,000 sq ft capacity and offer a range of services including heavy steel fabrication, mechanical pipe fabrication and installation, and thermal store/buffer vessels. They also have a highly motivated design department that works with clients from initial concept through manufacture to installation.

Roles and responsibilities
- Checking the deliveries – this involves checking that everything corresponds. The delivery note is correct in what they have sent, is this then correct as to what was ordered on Sage, then marking it off on Sage and sending the note to purchasing
- CM or CMW marking deliveries – This involves the internal traceability of the metal, which corresponds to an EN1020 certificate. You would get the certificate from the supplier, check that the HEAT/CAST numbers on the item correspond to the certificate. Then input the relevant details in to the CM or CMW register and mark the item with information
- Organisation of shelves/cupboards etc. – this involves making sure that the storage space for all items are properly organised and clearly identifiable, and means getting rid of completed job numbers to create space, as well as making sure things aren’t in the wrong space and lost forever.
- Re-ordering of stock and consumables – this involves ordering all items stored by us
- Dealing with free issue items and notes
- Loading/unloading vans and truck
- Sorting out items to be returned or repaired
- Measuring and weighing up items for postage
- Check the temperature and conditions of the weld cupboard
- Any other tasks and requested by Directors
