What you need to know about the role
Working in the role of Stores Person you will provide an effective stores and spares service by:
- Covering Stores Operations 24/7, 8 or 12 hour shifts (to be determined)
- Operating various types of forklift trucks
- Receiving and Unloading deliveries
- Receipting goods in
- Issuing goods out
- Stock checking
- Housekeeping of store,
- Dealing with correspondence
- Delivering materials (e.g. spares, consumables, oils, and greases) around the site
- Ensuring the store operates efficiently.
Health and safety is our number one priority and you will be responsible for following workplace health and safety standards and for working towards the security of the building and stock.
You will be based mainly at our Scunthorpe site, this is a day role working a 40 hour week and will include some weekend work. Overtime will be required during plant shutdown periods.
What we need to know about you
We’re looking for someone with previous experience of working in an engineering stores. This is a physically demanding role and involves lifting, bending and use of steps to access racking.
A working knowledge of stores, inventory management and stock control systems would be an advantage
You need to have the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, have an eye for detail and be well organised. Due to then nature of the role you must be health and safety conscious.
Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel and Lotus Notes an advantage and fork lift truck certification and HGV licences are desirable although training can be given for on-site use. A first aid certificate is also desirable.
