About the role
Your job itself offers real variety and involvement in a wide range of exciting projects. Reading Borough Council's Housing Property Services manages a significant portfolio of residential property, from Victorian Terrace Houses, through to High Rise Flats and Modern Care facilities, as well as new build sites. As Strategic Asset Manager your job will be to ensure these properties are maintained to a high standard on a just in time approach.
Works will include management of a team of 4 staff, budget setting of £20 million per year, advising on the strategic approach to asset management, seeking and submitting bids for Government and Eco funding, monitoring and reporting on KPI’s and ensuring the Housing stock has an effective 1 year, 5 year and 30 year management plan.

About you
You will need to be a good communicator with a proven background in building maintenance, and asset management, with proven experience of effectively managing staff.
You will hold a professional building surveying qualification preferably to MCIOB or MRICS. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, liaising with clients and the senior management team to provide a high quality and professional service.
