Job description

Are you ready to make a profound impact on the lives of Adults in Wakefield District? Following a re-structure of Adult Social Care Services in Wakefield District.  Join us as the new Strategic Director of Adults Social Care and lead strategic initiatives that enhance the welfare, health, and wellbeing of people living across Wakefield District.

If you can drive high quality service delivery through strategic leadership, aligning with council objectives and fostering innovation as well as serving as Deputy Director of Adult Social Services, we would love to hear from you.

If successful you will shape the council's strategic vision, driving sustainable plans in collaboration with cabinet members, staff, partners, stakeholders and importantly people and communities.

In return we are looking for someone who can foster strong relationships to meet people’s diverse needs effectively – a leader who has tackling health inequalities at the heart of all they do.

You must also be able to champion strategic initiatives making them a reality, whilst enhancing service quality and continuous improvement for everyone needing care and support. Advocating for personalised support, empowering people’s independence, and wellbeing, whilst motivating and taking our caring and talented staff with you, is a must.

The role involves leading care quality assurance preparations, ensuring excellent outcomes, managing Adult Social Care budget oversight effectively, as well as being a leader in Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership, promoting joined up care and partnership working.

If you have a strong commitment and experience of safeguarding people and the ability to work alongside multiagency teams, and with partners to deliver excellent services in line with policies and statutory requirements, please get in touch.

Extensive strategic leadership experience in Social Care, with a strong understanding of statutory functions and regulatory compliance as well as a proven track record of driving service excellence and innovation, is equally important.
