Introduction

The Office of the Executive, headed by the Clerk and the Director General, exists to support the executive and drive forward strategic initiatives across the organisation.

The Corporate Resilience team helps the organisation mitigate risks and build organisational resilience. We help to ensure that Parliament can continue to sit and be seen to be sitting following a disruption.

The team is bicameral and works closely with stakeholders across both Houses, the Digital Service and Parliamentary Security.

The Role

This role is based in the Corporate Resilience Team within the Office of the Executive, supporting the wider office in delivering its business plans and objectives. The postholder will assist with secretariat duties for Boards and Groups; provide support to specific projects as they arise; managing engagement activities and other support as required.

The postholder will use their analytical skills to collate, analyse and report on a wide range of management information to create dashboards and reports for staff and groups at all levels of Parliament.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Support the Office of the Executive to develop, maintain and monitor business support functions in line with standards of best practice.
  • Collect, monitor and analyse data; producing dashboards and reports as required.
  • Provide secretariat support to Boards and Groups as required, including agreeing agendas, circulating papers and taking minutes.
  • Support in delivering the team’s communication plan, drafting material and utilising various channels to ensure corporate messaging is cascaded.
  • Draft and maintain guidance documents, templates and resources owned by the team(s).

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • You are comfortable in dealing with numerical information and spreadsheets and keen to enhance and develop these skills.
  • You communicate clearly both orally and in writing and can explain complex information to diverse and non-specialist audiences.
  • You are able to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload to meet deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • You are able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and will uphold our principles of equality, diversity, inclusion and political impartiality at all times.
  • Incident Management / Business Continuity Qualification or equivalent or willing to work towards.
