Milestone Infrastructure Services is currently looking to recruit a Street Lighting Installation Operative - Crane to work on our Peterborough Highway Services contract in Peterborough.
As a Street Lighting Operative you will be part of our Street Lighting team who are responsible for Delivering of the Term Maintenance Street Lighting contract for Peterborough Highway Services.
Since 2013, Milestone Infrastructure have been delivering a Term Maintenance Contract (TMC) with Peterborough City Council (PCC) to carry out Street Lighting maintenance and improvement schemes on their network. The contract, which continues to 2028, includes the delivery of overall maintenance, including the replacement of columns, signs and bollards, individual Street Lighting schemes of varying values. We are currently looking to recruit a Street Lighting Installation Operative - Crane to work on our Peterborough Highway Services contract.
As the Installation Operative - (Crane) your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Installation of Street Lighting equipment including the use of a HIAB
- To realign or remove damaged or obsolete lighting units
- To install traffic management in accordance with chapter 8 safety at street works and road works (Red Book)
- To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the Health, Safety and Welfare of own and other persons and to comply with all local and statutory Health and Safety procedures
- To ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored in the appropriate manner
- To ensure that all paperwork is completed fully and in accordance to the deadline
- To undertake any duty that may be properly deemed by the supervisor to be part of the role of a Street Lighting operative
- To undertake emergency call out as directed
- To update inventory information of assets using PDA’s/Tablet/Paper format
- Daily vehicle checks are undertaken and the vehicle is kept clean and tidy
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Experience of working on the highways
- HGV entitlement
- Familiarisation with HIAB crane
- Work as part of a team
- Be prepared to work unsociable hours as required
- Current valid driving licence - Required
Additional Information
- You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
- You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
- You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
- Working within the vicinity of electrical supplies
