The postholder will link with relevant partners including but not limited to partners within the NHS, industry (including pharmaceuticals) and higher education institutions to coordinate a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Stroke Innovation landscape. The postholder will utilise this analysis to identify areas for immediate and longer-term growth; match the potential with existing innovation partners across Wales; and assess the potential for attracting new solutions and innovative partnerships to Wales.
As the Innovation Officer, you will:
Collaborate with partners institutions, university health boards, industry partners, relevant stroke-based organisations, and individual researchers and clinicians to establish a coherent assessment of the Stroke Innovation landscape in Wales.
Liaise with Welsh Government, the Cardiovascular Strategic Network, Stroke Association (Wales), and with the new Hyper Acute Stroke Units (HASUs) in development and all Welsh stroke networks to ensure their collaboration with innovative efforts.
Match innovation strengths and interests to existing research themes to ensure high-quality collaborative working, ensuring a pan-Wales approach.
Design, develop, and implement a ‘Stroke Innovation Plan for Wales’ that aligns to Welsh Government strategy and meets the needs of academia, industry, clinical teams, and stroke survivors in Wales.
What we are looking for
A Master’s Degree in a Health Innovation and/or Public Health related area or equivalent experience in applied field or industry.
An understanding of the innovation landscape in Wales and the UK.
Knowledge of the innovation funding schemes and appropriate funding sources for clinical innovation.
Knowledge of partnership working between industry and healthcare settings.
