Structural Engineer

Intermediate Structural Engineer - Require for our client to join their office in Oxford. The Client is a multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy. They provide a wide range of services across the majority of industry sectors including commercial, health, education, defence, residential etc.

The successful candidate must have sound knowledge of building construction, Building Regulations, and allied legislation. Additionally, they will assist with the provision of a professional Structural Engineering service to the Practice and its clients.

Applicants should be working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE.

Intermediate Structural Engineer Position Overview

• Design practical structural design solutions and to interpret with architectural concepts in a practical and economic manner.
• Assist with monitoring engineering/CAD/Revit resource requirements for each project within your control.
• Undertake structural survey works and produce reports for the same.
• Assist with the development of junior members of the team, their training and development.
• Promote BIM and 3D design/drawings to ensure that they comply with the Practice's BIM strategy, as well as other Practice services.
• Design and assist with supervising projects, establish client briefs, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.e., report, specifications and drawings scope for all projects.
• Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant to a consistent quality and standard.
• Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings as directed where required.
• Maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks.

Intermediate Structural Engineer Position Requirements

• Working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE
• Relevant MEng or BEng degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Sound knowledge of building construction, Building Regulations, and allied legislation
• Knowledge of emerging Software's, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), AutoCAD, Revit etc
• Effective management leadership and mentoring skills.
• Good understanding of building structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete and timber.
