Structural Engineer

Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to provide hands-on analysis and design within the C&S department.

This integral position comes with a salary of up to �55,000 depending on experience and the chance to work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities and duties:

As the Senior Structural Engineer you will:

* Prepare design documentation throughout the design process
* Develop designs to satisfy technical specifications
* Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design
* Contribute to design reviews
* Prepare of technical specifications
* Prepare risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures

Professional qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following:

* A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree
* Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
* Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
* Knowledge and understanding of Structural steel connections and connection types
* Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position

Personal skills:

The Senior Structural Engineer would suit someone who has/is:

* Strong team player
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel
* Ability to obtain security clearance
