Structural Engineer

Blueprint recruitment is working with a leading Solutions and Engineering Consultancy, who are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join them on a contract basis. This position offers the flexibility for the successful candidate to work on a largely remote basis, attending the Aylesbury office when required, to work on major Nuclear Projects. Our client has built an excellent reputation for offering services in a variety of sectors, including Water, Transport, Energy, Industrial and Waste.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties
• Lead multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme
• Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team
• Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project
• Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities
• Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training

Requirements:

• Chartered Engineer or working towards
• Able to obtain Security Clearence
• Extensive experience working as a Structural; Engineer
• Previously worked on Nuclear projects
• Able to develop scopes of work and delivery programmes
• Strong structural design and analysis software knowledge is beneficial
• Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships
• Able to work independently and as part of a team when necessary
• Ability to manage and work to budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes
• Good understanding of current design standards and working practices
• The ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
