Structural Engineer

Are you a Structural Engineer ready to manage a team and run your own Design Office, based in Northampton? This is a brand new role where you’ll be the technical lead for all Structural Surveys and designs for our market leading Overhead Factory Cranes and Gantry Structures. BASIC SALARY: Up to £60,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:Structural Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Structural Engineer, Structural Steel, Civil Engineer

In this critical role you’ll be the primary approver for all Structural calculations which will have a significant impact across the business as a whole. You’ll be responsible for improving the structural design process and efficiencies of our small, but very busy engineering design office.

Other responsibilities include:
· Managing the work flow of the design office whilst motivating and leading a team of 2 CAD Technicians / Draughtspeople.
· Creating calculation packs for our Crane and Hoist Systems.
· Customer site visits to survey for general arrangement procedure.
· Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth order flow.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:Structural Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Civil Structural Engineer, Structural Steel, Civil Engineer

You’re already qualified to degree level or equivalent in Structural Engineering or a related field. You’ll be highly experienced and demonstrate great leadership qualities. You might already be a manager, but if you’re looking for the move into management that you deserve, we want to speak to you.

Also, you will:

· Be able to create detailed calculation packs and also have CAD systems experience to design 2D & 3D Parts and assemblies (SolidWorks is preferred although not essential as full training will be provided).
· Show confidence in your work when discussing projects with various clients.
· Are able to work from heights on customer site visits.
· Have experience in steel fabrication and a good understanding of the manufacturing process.
