- Old Oak Common station is the London interchange station of the UK’s second high-speed railway. It will be located on the site of the existing Old Oak Common Railway Depot.
- As well as the new HS2 lines, Great Western Main Line (GWML), Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) and Heathrow Express services will all be served by the new Old Oak Common Station. The station will provide six high-speed sub-surface platforms and eight conventional surface platforms.
- HS2 Old Oak Common Station will provide a state-of-the-art gateway to London and the wider area, with efficient intermodal interchange with rail, taxi, cycle and pedestrian modes. The station will incorporate passenger and retail facilities, providing a high-class customer experience for all visitors to the station.
- WSP has been involved with HS2 Old Oak Common Station for almost 6 years employing more than 1000 staff in this time and over 36 disciplines (including sub-consultants, notably Wilkinson Eyre Architects). As such it is a key project of national significance for WSP. The overall Structural team alone is over 50 staff.
- The Project team working in partnership with HS2, the BBVS (Balfour Beatty, VINCI, SYSTRA) Joint Venture, supported in design by WSP and their supply chain, are responsible for the final design, construction and commissioning of the station.
