Job description

Permanent, Part Time 0.49TE (21 hours over 4 days per week)
Term Time Only (38 weeks per annum)
The Student Counsellor post is an important role providing qualified therapeutic support to students. The Student Counsellor will be part of a Student Services team, whose role is to support students to overcome barriers to successfully achieve. The Student Counsellor will provide drop-in sessions for personal advice and crisis counselling and will carry a counselling caseload of short-term clients. They will also provide advice and contribute to mental health support, training and consultation to the College, support concerns from safeguarding staff where assessing risk and producing a safety plan may be required and where required liaise with GPs and make referrals to external provision for young people and adults at risk.
With an MSc/Diploma in Counselling/Psychology and BACP/UKCP registered, you will have significant experience of providing counselling and welfare advice in the education, health, public or voluntary sectors and of therapeutic interventions that are suitable for short term counselling preferably with adults and young people.
We anticipate the hours for this post to be worked over four days.
