Job description

Working within the Teaching Support Team, you will provide administrative support for a range of learning and teaching activities to ensure the smooth operation of the Department.  Working closely with academic colleagues, you will be responsible for the administration of student projects at both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) levels as well as processes relating to student feedback on their modules and programmes.  You will support the administrative processes relating to the recruitment, allocation and training of Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA’s) and Demonstrators to support the delivery of teaching and assessment activities and ensure that alternative exam arrangements are made for students with additional needs. You will assist with Student Experience activities such as intro week and graduation, as well as supporting module choice processes. You will also deputise for and assist the Senior Student Experience Officer in timetabling processes. You will take responsibility for managing administrative processes relating to student feedback, including liaising with elected academic representatives. You will have experience of working in an administrative role in a busy office environment and of supporting and providing personalised advice to students, ideally within Higher Education. You will have exceptional professional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage your time to meet competing priorities and deadlines. You will be able to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues while exercising a great deal of personal initiative and decision-making. In addition, you will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy when working under pressure. We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University. We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development. We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and Student Experience.
