Registry Services is responsible for providing a wide and diverse range of services to all our students from the start to the end of the student journey, including Registration, Timetabling, Student Funding, Financial Welfare, Exams, Graduation and Academic Quality.
Role
An opportunity has arisen for a challenging but rewarding role within our Student Finance and Welfare Team for an Assistant Manager, to oversee and provide functional responsibility for a wide variety of student focussed areas; our online pre-induction service, operational management of the University fee matrix, ID card production, student correspondence documentation and scholarships and bursaries. As well as providing information and guidance internally on the management of Fees and related functionality within student system (SAP).
This role provides a pivotal role in the "onboarding" of students and other parts of the student journey, working closely with our Student Gateway, Registration and Student Funding teams, as well as Faculty Offices, Immigration Compliance and our Income Team.
Alongside the student aspects of the role, there is the requirement for data processing and management to ensure the fees are correctly inputted into the system and reporting needs are met. Working with out IT team you will take the business lead on system developments and improved service delivery. A working knowledge of SAP student database is desirable.
The role holder will draw on previous experience from within the sector and have a strong working knowledge of the student lifecycle, understand the importance of the student onboarding experience and the need for accurate fee information. The role is fast paced, often with competing priorities. You will be expected to provide day-to-day supervision (not line management) to staff who will support the delivery of functional aspects of your role, while working closely with their managers to effectively manage resources across the teams.
Ideal Candidate
You will be highly motivated, effective and an excellent communicator; with strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team. You will approach service delivery with an aim to achieve continuous improvement and ensuring we provide an excellent service across all relevant areas. You will have excellent management and motivational skills, using your initiative and problem-solving skills to resolve issues on a daily basis. Attention to detail and a strong technical knowledge of systems will be required. You will be able to communicate and consult with a wide range of stakeholders and our customers (students and non-students). We are seeking to appoint to this fixed term full-time post (37 hours per week) up to the end of June 2024 (with the possibility of an extension). Internal secondments are welcomed. This position is offered a hybrid basis with the expectation of being on campus at least 2 days a week. However, there will need to be some flexibility/additional days on campus to meet service demand/peak periods.
