Manchester Student Homes, the Universitys private sector housing team, invites applicants for the post of Housing Environmental Health Officer. Reporting to the management team, your responsibilities will be to design and deliver a robust housing and PBSA accreditation inspection regime achieving 100% inspection of the accredited property portfolio. You will support senior colleagues in the delivery of Manchester Student Homes services and enhancing the student experience. The delivery of a customer focused, high-quality service in accordance with the agreed service specifications, business plan, service level agreements and the requirements of legislation.
The successful post holder will be an experienced housing officer with the ability to work independently within the Manchester Student Homes Team. The post holder must be experienced, competent and competent at accurately assessing risk, using HHSRS, carrying out inspections of HMOs and liaising with landlords. A sound working knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and other tools available to proactively identify issues in HMOs is essential.
Being able to think critically and logically and recognise when data or information looks wrong or anomalous is a prerequisite and you must have experience of and show a high level of competence with computerised database systems.
You will have the ability to undertake a demanding and diverse programme of work to meet set deadlines. With the ability to show initiative to identify and develop solutions to problems and challenges. You will also have effective interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.
You role is hybrid which will entail working on campus, working remotely and the post will also involve visits to off-campus sites and neighbourhood areas where students reside.
