LCCOS is part of the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Faculties).

About the role

Subject Liaison Librarians are the primary point of contact for our faculties and departments within our libraries; they work proactively to build relationships with students and staff and to ensure that services and resources required to support learning, teaching and research are available. On a day-to-day basis, Subject Liaison Librarians are responsible for providing training and support, managing collections relevant to their faculty or department, and promoting and raising awareness of key Library Services’ developments and initiatives. Subject Liaison Librarians work as part of a team, and together take a collaborative approach to the development of services and resources to support students, academics and researchers as outlined in the LCCOS Strategy. This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site. We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:

  • Significant experience of working in an academic library, in a liaison or user support role.
  • Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating information literacy training, including the use of reference management software, and related materials, in both a face-to-face environment, and online.
  • Awareness of Systematic Reviews and the related literature searching requirements. Ability to understand the research needs of students and staff.
  • Ability to understand the research needs of students and staff.
