Summer Intern - Nrs Bereavement Services - (Fixed-Term)

Job Description

Glasgow City Council is able to provide a summer Internship from Monday 05 June 2023 – Friday 25 August 2023, inclusive. Applicants must be available for the full duration of the placement. The intern will work 35 hours per week and rate of pay will be the Glasgow Living Wage. Interns will work for 12 weeks, during which time they will accrue 6 days leave, the payment of which is included in their Salary so must be taken during their 12 week placement.
An initial assessment, review and consideration of the current process, machinery and plant across all cemeteries. Identify innovation available within the bereavement sector- advancement in cremator tech- EV track diggers- chemical assisted burials. Identify any innovation that could be transferrable to GCC BS- or what could block the innovation; SEPA, cost, public opinion etc
Energy usage/wastage across the section and a full analysis of carbon footprint/ green credentials prior to innovation and after
Eligibility criteria
• Must live within the Glasgow City Council boundary
• Have the right to live and work in the UK
• Be in the year of study specified in the advert
