Summer Porter - Fixed Term (4 x Posts)
The University of Aberdeen is looking for four enthusiastic and motivated University of Aberdeen Undergraduate students to undertake the role of Summer Porter (Fixed Term, 10 Weeks), within the Estates & Facilities Section. You will assist in the provision of a comprehensive logistics, mailing and Portering service for the University for 36.5 hours per week Monday to Friday for a period of 10 weeks from Monday 10 June to Sunday 11 August 2024. Successful candidates will be provided with a uniform, protective clothing and relevant training in order to carry out their duties.

Duties will include assisting in the delivery and collection of goods, mail, moving and handling of furniture and equipment and other related duties. Core hours will be 0700 – 1500 hours Monday to Friday for the Fixed Term period, although some flexibility may be required for events and other activities.
Applicants must have good written and oral communication skills and be physically able to undertake foot patrols and manual handling duties.
The role will form part of the Estates & Facilities Section which is part of the University’s Professional Services. With approximately 1500 staff, Professional Services consists of a number of student and academic focused areas as well as other corporate and support areas.
Salary will be Grade 1 salary scale (£11.44 per hour) on a 36.5 hour week for the 10 week Fixed Term.
