Supplier Development Engineer

Supplier Development Engineer - Stafford (Hybrid) - Up to £40/hr - Inside IR35

A Supplier Development Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will assess supplier quality and ensure that all the products are defect-free and comply with manufacturing specifications and legal standards. You will also conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.

In your first few weeks in this Supplier Management role, you can expect to:

• Ensuring the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify any quality issues; Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanism.
• Generating reports on supplier quality, by monitoring their defect rates and areas that can lead to potential flaws; Guiding suppliers to reduce these defect rates.
• Researching the potential vendors, assessing their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures.
• Conducting supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.
• Supporting suppliers in improving their performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Comfortable and confident in presenting their actions and activities to the first line management.
• Supplier performance monitoring experience.
• Able to read a drawing and understand tolerances is crucial.
• Report writing.
• Working well as a team with a collaborative attitude.
• NPI Experience would be an advantage.
